Day 56, Caucasus

We have finally reached our destination, the Caucasus. Today we woke up at about 6:00 am because we couldn't stand the urge to visit. It's -6 degrees. It is a natural region located on the border between Eastern Europe and western Asia, between the Black Sea and the Caspian Sea, which includes the Caucasus mountain range itself and the surrounding lowlands, with a total length of about 1,200 km.  the central Caucasus area is covered with numerous glaciers, the Western Caucasus is dominated by the presence of abundant forests, while the Eastern Caucasus, located at a lower altitude and drier, is an almost desert region. During the tour Saul got fired taking some pictures and then had to call us because we didn't notice and we had the phone off, when we picked up the phone he said angrily and we found it very funny.

Day 43, Dnieper river

Today we are going to visit the Dnieper river. We got up at 6:00 a.m. We've prepared some sandwiches for the meal and got going. Today it's -1 degree. It is a river of eastern Europe that runs through central Russia, Belarus and Ukraine draining into the Black Sea. It has a length of 2287 km (4th longest in Europe) and drains a basin of 516 300 km2. It's a very nice place. The Dnieper has a diverse aquatic flora and fauna. In its upper course, plankton consist mainly of diatomal and protococcal algae, rotifers and Bosmina. The blue-green algae come from the Pripet's mouth. More than 60 species of fish live in the Dnieper. The climate of the Dnieper River basin is generally temperate and much milder and much wetter than that of the regions located to the east in southwestern Russia, located at the same latitude. About 9:00 pm we went to the Aloft Kiev hotel, we were very satisfied and comfortable n this hotel.

Day 33, Kerch strait

Today we got up at 7:00am to visit the Kerch Strait. Today is 4 degrees but there's a lot of wind.We visited the bridge as we were interested in its history. This 4.5 km (2.8 mile) bridge was built in the summer of 1944 after the liberation of Crimean by the Red Army with the materials left on the site by the Wehrmacht. It was destroyed within six months by the ice that flowed due to the absence of breakwaters.
On 25 April 2010, Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych and Russian President Dmitry Medvedev signed an agreement to build the bridge. This agreement was cut short by the outbreak of the Euromaidan and Russia's accession to Crimea.
This day we ate at a little food stall in the area. About 7:30pm we go to the hotel El Estrecho, a place we didn't like very much because those who worked here were very poorly educated with the customers.

Day 25, Chisináu, Moldavia

On our route we had to cross through Romania, these days we have spent much of it, today we have decided to stop and visit Chisináu, which is located in Moldova, we have decided to visit this place since during our trip is the place that we have recommended the most come and see.Today's temperature is 3 degrees, quite cold but it doesn't matter because in this place there are so many things to do. We woke up at about 5:30 am as we had many important places of this place. At about 6:00 am we left the hostel and started visiting. First we went to visit the Orthodox Church of Theodor Tiron, this church is one of the most beautiful we have ever seen! Then we went to see The Central Mrcado of Chisinau, it is a huge place with a great variety of small shops with very nice things and finally visited Stephen Park, a very quiet and clean place where you can be relaxed. This day we ate at 1:30pm in a coffee shop at the Market. At about 8:00pm we went to the Catherine Hotel, as it is one of the best hotels and with the best price.

Día 15, Danube river

Today we wake up at 6:00 am, at 7:30 am we start visiting the Danube river. Today it is 16 degrees, a perfect temperature to visit because it is neither cold . Today we have seen a wide variety of animals, we saw common storks, real owls, pelicans, foxes, squirrels, the agile lizard and aquatic animals we saw mainly salmon and gobio, the endangered animals we saw were the red-breasted goose and the common kingfisher. The flora of this place is very extensive, the ones that surprised us is that there were sandbanks where some animals live. On our visit a very funny event happened, we were trying to touch the water and Carla fell into the water because there was a hole and she didn't see, It as so funny. This day we didn't go to any restaurant, we ate sandwiches in a park that was near at 2:00 pm. We were very tired so at 8:30 pm more or less we go to the hotel that is the same of a family that we meet in the park near the river.

Día 6, Mount Olympus

Today we wake up at 7:30 am, today is 14 degrees and it's very little windy  Is a great day because we are going to visit the Mount Olympus !, the previous days we have been sightseeing and crossing Athens.
 The Mount Olympus is very big, we know that is big but not so much. At first we didn´t recognise the mount, we need to ask to a family that are crossing.The flora of the mount is very beautiful we saw the  Jan caea heldreichii a very interesting plant ! We saw deer, wild boar, squirrels, wild cats.... a lot of animals !
 We went to eat at a restaurant that this family recommended, the To Pazari, is a beautiful place but we don´t like the food, it was cool. When we finish eating we visit the surroundings. At 8:00 pm we go to the hotel Cavo Olympo Luxury Hotel & Spa because we are very tired.
 

Day 1, Ágora de Athenas

 We are Carla, Naiara and Saúl we will make a route from Athens to Tbilisi, during this route we will pass through different geographical points. This is the route that we are going to do:

Day 1

We wake up at at 6:00 am and we take the breakfast more or less at 6:30 am  and after we start to walk. Today is a sunny day, perfect to start the route!, we visit the Ágora de Atenas; is a beautiful monument and very acient too. Today it is 10 degrees but it isn't too much wind.Then we take the lunch at 2:00 pm at Diodos Ágora a very good place, we eat pasta and potatoes with a steak. We were eating at the terrace and some pigeons came to attack us to take our food ! It was very funny because Naiara start runing and Saúl go locked himself in the bathroom because he's afraid of them. At 7:30 pm we are very tired, so, we decided go to the hotel to rest. We go to Phidias Hotel Athens, is a very beutifil place and the persons are so kind. At 9:30 pm more or less we go to sleep.
